Some things are just meant to be. Call it destiny or kismet... or in our case, macarons. We met when we were both teaching at a confectionary arts school. Allyson was in the third year of her own cake design business and had earned the Canadian Wedding Industry Award for Cake Designer of the Year. Sarah had become head pastry chef at Canoe at a remarkably young age before rounding out her repertoire at several other prestigious spots. We both wanted to make people happy with delicious, delightful and creative sweet things. Enter French macarons. Allyson had made a big splash when she created them for a magazine shoot. She approached Sarah to join her in introducing the gorgeous pastries to Toronto, and Bobbette & Belle was born.

 

Our macarons were petite, evocative pleasures, a moment's delight. We realized that, through cake design, we could extend that experience to truly significant moments and milestones, tailoring our creations to reflect and rejoice in the highlights of our clients' lives. We launched a specialty cake design practice that emulated the business model of the fashion industry – with both fresh classic designs in an affordable "prêt-a-porter" mode and "haute couture" design based on our clients' most creative desires. Our approach revolutionized the specialty cake industry.

 

Bobbette & Belle took an exciting step, opening our first retail store. We found the perfect location in Toronto's Leslieville and created a relaxed, comfortably elegant space. The response has been enthusiastic. Customers come from near and far to enjoy a wide variety of pastries with excellent coffee, and to purchase gifts from our unique selection. Clients come to view our wall of signature cakes and sit down with us to discuss their needs. We love hearing their stories and helping them select the perfect design for their special occasion.

 

The enthusiasm for Bobbette & Belle's creations and bakeshop continues to grow. Allyson and Sarah are regular guests on the Marilyn Denis show, creating sweet magic in the show kitchen.
